Charles and RayEames
1949 marked the beginning of the consumer revolution; the appearance of TV was a breakthrough in home life activities and with it came new furniture for enjoying the latest and greatest shows.
This period was marked, like so many others, with exciting new designs from the husband and wife Eames team. Our replica is a fun, quirky cabinet that draws inspiration from the famous ESU range, well known for their combination of materials and fun coloured panels to channel the avant-garde style of cubism. The original design is characterised by the distinctive circular pattern that is embedded in the façade of the sliding doors as well as criss-crossing wire, a clever combination of eye-catching features.
True to the original, our replica looks and feels at home in any office, work or entertainment space while maintaining a sense of fun, a trait for which the Eames's were well known. Rigidly geometric with a blend of natural and manmade materials, this piece is a serious milestone in the progression of modern design that also has its own sense of humour, just like Ray and Charles Eames.
